When traveling for an extended stay, travel safety includes considering what you put in your luggage. You will have to tote luggage across platforms and down streets covered in snow and ice. Luggage storage is underneath public transportation vehicles. Thus, do not store valuables in luggage you plan to stow. Also, use a luggage lock. Never leave luggage unattended. Finally, keep track of all your belongings. This will help ensure nothing gets left on a platform or at a bus stop.

Plan ahead by packing a small emergency kit with snacks, water, first aid, a phone charger and flashlight. If you are traveling with small children make sure to keep up with personal items so nothing is lost.
